Backlogs are a staple in every gamer’s life. With each passing year, there are always new titles to check out, adding to the existing list and triggering a snowball effect. For Japanese voice actor Yuichi Nakamura (Haikyuu!!, Jujutsu Kaisen), his game library comes by way of an impressive 1,400 physical Super Famicom, or Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) titles.
The feat was announced around the 23-minute mark in a YouTube stream titled “That’s it, it’s over”, with a follow-up post on X/Twitter showing off part of the collection and the link appended to the back. “So I’ve completed my collection of commercially released Super Famicom titles,” it reads. “I think I’ll start a new hobby. (This photo doesn’t show all of them!)”.
In another separate update, Nakamura shared a closer look at the assortment, which seems to be a mix of sealed and opened cases. The total number, now coming in at over 1,400, makes it likely that he has collected every Japanese release for the system — the SNES is its Western counterpart, but not all regions share the same selection. Talk about being a completionist!
An A-lister in the industry, Nakamura is no stranger to geeky hobbies outside of voicing popular characters. Apart from playing and collecting video games, the 44-year-old is also a Gunpla enthusiast. Some of his notable roles in anime include Satoru Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen, Tetsuro Kuroo from Haikyuu!!, Bruno Bucciarati of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind fame, Fairy Tail‘s Gray Fullbuster, and more. As for video games, he has portrayed Thancred Waters in Final Fantasy XIV, Fei Long in Street Fighter IV, Dion Lesage in Final Fantasy XIV, and most recently, Louis Guiabern in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
