Iron Fist’s Finn Jones Wants ‘Heroes for Hire’ MCU Series With Luke Cage

Finn Jones, known for his role as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, remains hopeful about reprising his Marvel character alongside Mike Colter’s Luke Cage for a potential Heroes for Hire series. During an interview at Heroes Dutch Comic Con, Jones expressed his desire to Dutch outlet The Nerd Shepherd to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), despite the cancellation of his show in 2018.

Jones articulated his continued passion for his character, saying, “I would like to see the character continue. I would like to continue playing that character. I think there’s still a lot of room for growth and professionally I’m at a point where I would like to continue to grow with Iron Fist.”

Heroes for Hire refers to the comic series that teams up Iron Fist and Luke Cage as they offer their superhero services for a fee, navigating the gritty streets as a dynamic duo. Their unique abilities — Luke’s unbreakable skin and super strength, and Danny’s martial arts expertise and mystical Iron Fist — make them an effective pair.

Reflecting on his chemistry with Colter, Jones remarked, “That would be nice. I would love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again. It’s always been great. I think they’re interesting characters to bring together. I think there’s a lot of great stories that can be told with those characters. And If they brought me and Mike back to do a Heroes for Hire TV series, I think it would be the right way to go.”

While the prospect of a Heroes for Hire series remains uncertain, Marvel’s recent actions have sparked hope among fans. The integration of Marvel’s Netflix series — including Iron Fist and Luke Cage — into the MCU canon has expanded the cinematic universe significantly. Marvel is already advancing this integration with the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, set for March 2025, featuring several familiar faces from the Netflix shows.

Jones’ enthusiasm for a revival reflects a broader desire among fans to see more from the street-level heroes of the Marvel Netflix era. Though Iron Fist received mixed reviews, the potential for balancing the characters in a joint series could address past criticisms and provide the depth that fans are seeking.
