GeraldWhile Game of Thrones takes a break for the rest of the year, HBO still has to put up other shows to fill that void. And what surprised me was the number of big screen stars stepping onto the small screen. I guess when you are HBO, there’s a significant amount of clout available for leverage amongst other things.
The new HBO comedy series, Ballers, kicks off on Mondays at 10am, with a same day primetime encore at 10pm.
The show looks at the lives of former and current football players, and follows former superstar Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) as he gets his life on track in retirement. You can end it there. The Rock is now on TV!
Looking at the trailer there is a very strong Entourage vibe here and the best part is the first episode of Ballers is available on YouTube for you to check out from now till 8 July.
