‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ Delayed Again To Nov 2026

Fans eagerly anticipated the launch of Rockstar’s massive crime adventure follow-up, Grand Theft Auto VI, are in for a longer wait, as the game has been delayed yet again, this time to November 2026.

Grand Theft Auto VI was initially set for release in 2025, but was pushed back to May 2026. Now, according to a statement posted on the official Rockstar Games website, the game has been delayed once more to 19 November 2026, with the studio explaining that it is using the additional time to “finish the game with the level of polish [fans] have come to expect and deserve.”

While the delay might be disappointing to some, it marks a positive change in the gaming industry, where developers are now willing to push back their game releases to make sure they run as smoothly as possible on launch, rather than rushing things out in an unfinished state to meet publisher demands or peak periods.

Still, when a game as massive as Grand Theft Auto VI is delayed, it’s bound to cause some shake-ups within the year’s gaming launch schedule, as other studios are understandably afraid of competing with Rockstar’s gaming giant. With massive games like Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Xbox’s Fable reboot still set for an undetermined release in 2026, it won’t be surprising if some upcoming games will be pushed back even later to avoid releasing in the same window.

One thing’s for sure, with its new release date, Grand Theft Auto VI is set to dominate the 2026 holiday season, which is usually a critical sales period for most triple-A titles… unless the game gets delayed again, which won’t be too surprising considering Rockstar’s record.

Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to launch on 19 November 2026.
