Google Pixel 11 Series Pairs New Tensor G6 Chip & Gemini Intelligence For S$1,299, Brings 120X Pro Zoom

With hardware as powerful as it is nowadays, flagship mobile devices have to turn to other distinguishing factors, such as camera performance, artificial intelligence (AI) features, and design. For the Google Pixel series, the camera bar has always been a mainstay, even as it changed from a rectangular cutout to rounded edges over the years.

The company’s latest-gen lineup retains the same overall look, but as with every generation, introduces a handful of iterative tweaks. The all-glass surface covering the rear camera touts reduced thickness by over 40 percent, while all models — the base Pixel 11, the 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold — are now powered by the new Tensor G6 chip. According to Google, the upgraded CPU delivers up to 20 percent better power efficiency, 25 percent faster browsing, 15 percent faster app loading, and 50 percent more TPU power for running complex local AI workloads than before.

Barring a lighter 196-gram chassis (versus 204 grams), the handset remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. It measures 72 x 152.8 x 8.6mm, and the 6.3-inch Actua OLED display features a 20:9 aspect ratio, a variable refresh rate of 60 to 120Hz, and a 3,000-nit peak brightness. The back, meanwhile, houses a 48-megapixel (MP) wide camera, a 13MP ultra-wide snapper, and a 10.8MP telephoto camera, with Super Zoom bumped to 30x from 20x.

To complement its imaging capabilities, the Pixel 11 series comes with a suite of editing and photography tools. Magic Capture, for instance, analyses around 500 frames of a dynamic scene to automatically pick out the best moments at HDR+ quality, and Camera Looks allows users to create their own set of distinct, professional-grade film styles across all skin tones. Other notable features outside of photography include 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage (upgradable to 512GB), and a 4,985mAh battery that lasts around 30 hours.

As for the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, both are slightly lighter at 204 grams and 227 grams, down from 207 grams and 232 grams, respectively. Similar to the previous generation, the former comes in at 72 x 152.8 x 8.6mm and boasts a 6.3-inch Super Actua display with a resolution of 2,856 x 1,280 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,600-nit peak brightness. In comparison, its bigger sibling, measuring 76.6 x 162.8 x 8.5mm, is armed with a 6.8-inch Super Actua panel that supports a resolution of 2,856 x 1,280 pixels.

The triple-camera setup is also identical on the two models, comprising a new 50MP wide camera, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 48MP 5x telephoto lens with up to 10x optical quality, alongside Pro Zoom up to 120x. What’s different here is HiLight, an array of ambient LED lights integrated into the camera bar. Alongside hands-free interactions with Google Gemini, it alerts users to notifications by glowing when their device is face down, and can be customised to their Favourite Contacts.

HiLight won’t be added to the base device, but other AI-powered tools are still available. In addition to existing options such as Circle to Search and Live Translate, Google’s latest introduces Rambler for fast, accurate voice input that matches the speaker’s intent by removing fillers and clutter, and Creator Suite, which serves as an on-device assistant to help creators record and edit video content. The updated Gemini Intelligence now pulls relevant information from across different apps and displays what’s needed, from showing calendar availability to finding dinner recommendations.

Likewise, some heft has been trimmed off the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The foldable tips the scales at 239 grams, as compared to 258 grams previously, with the slightly larger 8-inch Super Actua OLED Flex inner display packing a resolution of 2,152 x 2,076 pixels, up to 3,600 nits of brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. In its folded and fully open forms, it measures 76 x 10.1 x 155.2mm (versus 76.3 x 155.2 x 10.8mm) and 150.4 x 5 x 155.2mm, respectively.

New to the camera array is the 48MP wide snapper, joining a 10.8MP telephoto and 10.5MP ultrawide cameras. Alongside features such as Bubble Anything, Drag and Drop, and Split Screen, users can expect a 4,750 mAh battery – smaller than the two Pro models, rated at 4,850 mAh and 5,115 mAh.

Pre-orders are now open for the entire Google Pixel 11 range, which officially launches in Singapore on 20 August (base model, Pro / Pro XL, and Pro Fold).
