At Summer Game Fest 2026, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the climactic third and final entry in the critically acclaimed Remake series that started in 2020. The game launches in Spring 2027 across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox PC.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi and voice actor Matt Mercer (Vincent Valentine) took the stage to debut the official reveal trailer and showcase extended gameplay, giving fans their first look at the saga’s breathtaking finale.
The story sees Cloud Strife and his companions reeling from loss as they confront Sephiroth’s ascension to godhood. Aboard the legendary Highwind airship, the party races against time to stop Meteor, the ultimate destructive magic, before it annihilates the planet.

The reveal trailer highlighted a world without boundaries, with the entire planet explorable via the Highwind. Players can parachute into any location, seamlessly shifting from air to land. With Meteor descending and colossal Weapons wreaking havoc, players must choose where to fight, who to save, and how to shape the journey. Combat blends real-time action and Tactical Mode, now expanded with new playable heroes and devastating abilities.
Extended gameplay introduced fresh locations and characters, alongside the debut of the FITS system. Fans will explore reimagined lands like the sunlit Mideel archipelago, the warrior nation of Wutai, and the frozen Northern Continent. Playable newcomers include Vincent Valentine, a gunslinger with feral transformations, and Cid Highwind, a lance-wielding pilot delivering brutal single-target and sweeping AoE strikes. The FITS system lets players equip outfits that unlock new movesets inspired by classic Final Fantasy jobs such as Black Mage and Warrior.
Ahead of Revelation’s release, newcomers can catch up with Remake Intergrade and Rebirth, available now across all platforms. Both titles feature streamlined progression options like unlimited HP/MP, instant ATB gauge, and faster weapon ability acquisition.
Save data from previous entries will also unlock exclusive bonuses in Final Fantasy Revelation:
