‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Infinity Castle Film Trilogy To Screen In Singapore

Hot on the heels of a one-hour special that concluded Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc, Crunchyroll has announced theatrical screenings for an anime film trilogy adapting the Infinity Castle arc. The streamer is bringing Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle to cinemas around the globe and in select Asian territories, including Singapore.

There’s no word on a release date, but the feature will represent the final arc and conclusion of the highly-popular manga series. This marks the fourth big-screen entry in the franchise, after Infinity Train (or Mugen Train, as known in Japanese), To the Swordsmith Village, and To the Hashira Training — though the latter two were more of a combination of the previous season’s last two episodes and an extended pilot episode of the upcoming arc.

The official visual was also unveiled alongside the trailer, sporting the tagline, “The All-Out War Begins”. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc is the latest season, covering the 15th and 16th volumes (chapters 128 to 139) of the source material. It premiered on 12 May 2024, and ended on 30 June with an eight-episode count. Prior to its release, To the Hashira Training opened on 2 February in Japan, and travelled to several countries as part of a World Tour.

Based on Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga, the Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer anime first aired in April 2019, followed by the Mugen Train film in October 2020, as well as the Mugen Train Arc series (separate from the feature) and Entertainment District Arc from 2021 through 2022. A third season, the Swordsmith Village Arc, ran for 11 episodes in 2023.

The animation is handled by studio ufotable (Fate/Zero, Touken Ranbu), with director Haruo Sotozaki at the helm. Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:

“It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself.

Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.”
