Illustrated by written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the dark fantasy series has become one of the biggest manga series in print, and was announced for an anime adaption back in 2020. Its popularity has continued to grow over time, culminating in shared excitement among the community as the team wrapped up production for its first part a few months ago.

Considering MAPPA’s overwhelming success with Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1 and Jujutsu Kaisen, the pressure is on the studio to deliver yet another animated masterpiece. With fans high expectations for the series, here’s to hoping that it does live up to the hype.

For those who aren’t familiar with the manga, the synopsis of Chainsaw Man reads, “Denji was a small-time devil hunter just trying to survive in a harsh world. After being killed on a job, he is revived by his pet devil-dog Pochita and becomes something new and dangerous — Chainsaw Man!”

There is currently no official release date for Chainsaw Man, but the acclaimed series is expected to air in October or November this year to coincide with the Autumn slate of anime releases.
