Capcom Reveals March Release For ‘Dragon’s Dogma 2’ With Thrilling Showcase

One of the more highly anticipated titles for 2024 is Capcom‘s Dragon’s Dogma 2, which promises to bring players back to the grand role-playing experience that made the first game such a big hit. While the game has been shown off in various snippets, the latest showcase revealed more juicy details about Dragon’s Dogma 2, including its release date.

For those that cannot wait, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be launching on 22 March 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Pre-orders have opened, with a Deluxe version of the game set to reward players with 1500 Rift Crystals, the Dragon’s Dogma Music & Sound Collection, an Explorer’s Camping Kit, and six other useful items. All who preorder the standard edition will be granted access to the Superior Weapons set, which includes improved starting tools for the four initial Vocations. Preordering the Deluxe Edition will see players get the Ring of Assurance along with the base bonuses.

During the Dragon’s Dogma 2 showcase, combat and gigantic enemies were shown off for good measure, with players expected to take down huge foes by climbing and striking at weak points. Director Hideaki Itsuno and Producer Hirabayashi provided a first look at several monsters during the digital event, including the new Talos enemy, a towering bronze golem capable of wreaking untold destruction with a single step. There will also be plenty of quests to take up, as Itsuno took viewers through one such example of befriending and working with the Elves.

Heading to the town, Sacred Arbor, the demo also presented the language elements of the game, where players will have to translate unknown languages with the help of their Pawns in certain encounters. “These Specializations that Pawns can acquire will make each of them more unique,” Itsuno explained, “and hopefully more enjoyable to journey with.”

Between adventuring in a brand new “parallel world” as the Arisen, questing in the open world, and engaging in some exciting combat, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is already shaping up to be an experience not to be missed. Here’s hoping when March rolls around, we will learn even more about this epic sequel.
