BioWare is celebrating Dragon Age Day 2024 by releasing the character creator for Dragon Age: The Veilguard as a free standalone app on all platforms, alongside Patch 4 for the game, which includes a special cosmetic gift for fans.
Check out the character creator trailer below:
Per the official blog post, the free character creator will allow potential players to create their own Rook (the game’s protagonist) before purchasing the game, with the ability to import the created character over. Moreover, there won’t be any time limit, so users can take as long as necessary to build the perfect character, and rightfully so considering how in-depth the system is.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will also be receiving Patch 4, which apart from providing bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, also includes a free cosmetic outfit inspired by Hawke, the protagonist of 2011’s Dragon Age II, including his iconic armour, body paint, and nose blood smear. The update also adds two new complexion options for Qunari characters, making them look like their counterparts from previous games.
To cap things off, BioWare has also created a series of infographics that reveal the player choices for the game’s big decisions, posted on their social media pages, and teased “a few more things planned in the days to come and before the holiday season.”
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released on 31 October 2024 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
