‘Batman Ninja’ Sequel Pits Dark Knight Against Yakuza League

Warner Bros. Japan has officially announced a sequel to the 2018 CG spectacle, Batman Ninja. Titled Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, this new installment promises to dive even deeper into the wild, genre-blending action that made the original a hit.

The original Batman Ninja saw the Dark Knight, along with his iconic allies and rogues gallery, catapulted from the gritty streets of Gotham to the samurai-laden landscape of feudal Japan. The sequel looks set to continue this epic saga with Koichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball Super) returning to voice Batman. The original film’s creative team, including the talented folks at Kamikaze Douga, who brought us the stunning CG anime openings for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, are back on board for this next chapter.

Furthermore, a special panel will take place on 4 July at Anime Expo 2024, where Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League will share the spotlight with DC’s other anime venture, Suicide Squad Isekai. While details are scarce, the panel will likely showcase how Batman and his allies navigate the treacherous world of the yakuza, especially after their time-traveling escapades in the feudal era.
