Ahead of the release of its second season, Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series has wrapped filming of Season Three, which will also mark the final chapter in the saga.
As reported by Netflix’s Tudum, the streamer commemorated this occasion by sharing a photo of its main cast during the final days on set, featuring Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Maria Zhang, and Miya Cech, who play Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Suki and Toph, respectively.
After the success of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s first season in 2024, the series was promptly renewed for two additional seasons, which were shot back-to-back. Following in the footsteps of Nickelodeon’s 2005 animated series of the same name, the Netflix adaptation will span three seasons and follow Aang’s journey as he fights to restore balance to the world and defeat the invading Fire Nation by mastering the four elements, Water, Earth, Fire and Air.
“When we started working on Season 2, we gathered three forces: integrity, hope, and joy. And here we are almost three years later wrapping the end of production with an immensely talented and devoted team that met those ideals and exceeded them,” said Avatar: The Last Airbender executive producer and writer Christine Boylan. “I am eternally grateful to be part of this important, hilarious, action-packed team who is bringing this epic live action story to the world.”

Additionally, Netflix Geeked also posted a caption that accompanied the cast image, teasing that “exciting Season 2 updates are coming very soon”. While both upcoming seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender are now in post-production, Season Two is expected to arrive in early 2026, with Season Three possibly arriving that same year too.
