CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 will soon receive its massive 2.5 update in celebration of the launch of the Netflix anime, Edgerunners 2, with the studio unveiling what fans can expect from the content drop, including new quests, items, and the debut of a dual-wielding combat style.
As outlined in a quick-fire Features Overview trailer, Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 update will include a new side quest titled Clampdown, which is set before the events of the anime. Upon completion of the quest, players will also receive a new five-piece gear set inspired by King, a character from Edgerunners 2. Other new side quests include Welcome to Paradise!, a new city tour narrated by Night City founder Richard Night, and an extension of Fool on the Hill, which will feature new tarot cards.
The biggest addition to the update, however, lies in the new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, which will allow players to dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category for the first time, which doesn’t just look cool, but hopefully provides returning players with a new playstyle to tinker around with.
Other game additions include a new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, featuring a selection of tracks from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series, five new clothing collections available from vendors across Night City, and the ability to customise the look of hand cyberware, such as Mantis Blades and Gorilla Arms, at one of five new Glamdoc locations, with players able to select different colourways and skins.
Apart from this, the update also features a bunch of quality-of-life updates, as well as cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. PC players will also receive support for DLSS 4.5, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Multi Frame Generation for graphics cards that support these features.
With Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 update, there’s now yet another reason for players to jump into Night City and live through its adventures once more, now with a healthy dose of new content to play around with. The update will be available for players to download sometime later today, while the Cyberpunk Edgerunners II anime is now available to watch on Netflix.
