‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ Remake Unveils Updated Gameplay & New Hall of Fallen Foes Creature Viewer

Nintendo has shared a new look at its upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, giving fans a better understanding of its updated combat, puzzle-solving, and world, alongside unveiling some of the remake’s new additions, like the Hall of Fallen Foes “museum” feature.

While fans already had a glimpse at what the remake had to offer via a previous reveal, such as the ability to complete the game’s ocarina mini-games by either humming or playing an actual instrument in real life, this latest trailer brings another new addition in the form of the Hall of Heroes, the new creature viewer room Link will be able to explore, which displays statues of defeated foes.

By interacting with said statues, players will not only be able to learn more about the foe, but they can also learn where to find them in the open world and what useful items they may drop. For boss enemies, the Hall of Heroes will also allow players to fight them again, with the trailer showcasing a rematch with King Dodongo, where players will be able to also see how long they took to beat the boss the second time.

Apart from the new “museum” feature, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake’s latest trailer also shows off more of what players can expect, from its various NPCs to its modernised third-person combat, to platforming and puzzle-solving. The trailer also ended with a segment detailing the title’s support for the Zelda Notes app, which will allow players to view the map, Gossip Quests, the Hall of Fallen Foes, and various play data via their smartphones. The app will also include a quiz with over 2,000 questions and a photo-taking minigame where players will need to find and take a photo of the location shown on the app.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake will launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 on 5 November 2026.
