Amazon’s Reacher series might still be in the production stages of its fifth chapter, but the show has already secured an early renewal for Season 6.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, this marks another early renewal for the hit series, which saw the same pattern back in 2023 when it was renewed for Season 3 ahead of the launch of its second season. With six chapters in the bag, this also makes Reacher one of Prime Video’s longest-running scripted series, tied with Invincible and second behind the 2014 police procedural Bosch, which ran for seven seasons.
This early renewal is likely due to the success of Reacher Season 4, which, according to Amazon, scored 66 million viewers over its first 28 days of release. “Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher – he’s delivered a performance that has captivated audiences around the world,” said Amazon MGM Studios head of global television Peter Friedlander in a statement. “Together with our partners at Paramount Television Studios, we couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey. Reacher is a truly iconic series, and we’re thrilled to be on the ride with this extraordinary cast and crew for season six.”
Based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels, the series stars Ritchson as the titular retired Military Police Officer as he finds himself in the crosshairs of various criminals while drifting from town to town across the United States. Season 4, which debuted in August 2026, was based on the 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow and saw Reacher in Philadelphia, where he encounters a troubled woman on the train who takes her own life, causing him to be caught up in a complex and deadly conspiracy surrounding a mysterious USB drive.
Season 5 of Reacher is currently being filmed in Toronto and will be based on the 2015 novel Make Me. The novel sees Reacher heading to a small Midwestern town named Mother’s Rest, so hopefully its live-action adaptation will mark a return to the small-town action last seen in Season 1, which will be a welcome change after three seasons set in larger cities. The source material for Season 6, however, has not been revealed at this point.
