Just a few weeks out from its initial release, Ubisoft has delayed its upcoming platformer remake, Rayman Legends Retold, by two months, from 1 October to 3 December 2026, citing the need for final polishing.
Shared via the game’s official social media pages, Ubisoft stated that while the game had officially gone gold, the studio has ultimately decided to push it back slightly to make sure that “every detail gets the care it deserves”.
The post continued to state that ahead of the game’s launch, a new game overview trailer will be released on 22 September, which will hopefully show off enough to keep fans’ anticipation high now that the title has been delayed by a few months.
Rayman Legends Retold was initially announced in June during PlayStation’s State of Play showcase and is a remake of the 2015 platformer, Rayman Legends.
The remake doesn’t just bring a complete graphical overhaul with its fancy new 3D characters and environments, it also introduces new gameplay elements alongside its familiar platforming action, such as its new dragon-riding segments. In addition, the game will also come with Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, a free remastered version of the 2011 platformer, offering an impressive bundle of two games in one.
With its delay, let’s hope that the team can iron out some of the upcoming remake’s final kinks by the time Rayman Legends Retold launches for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on 3 December 2026.
