Harry Potter HBO Series Adds Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle & Colin Creevey To Season 2

More familiar faces are arriving in Hogwarts, as HBO’s Harry Potter TV series reboot has added Rafe Spall (Hot Fuzz), Molly Hewitt-Richards (Code of Silence) and Jasper Ambrose (Man vs Baby) as Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle, and Colin Creevey, respectively.

Mark Williams as Arthur Weasley

As reported by Deadline, the trio will join the cast for Season 2, which is currently filming at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in the UK. Other characters being added to the reboot’s second season include Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Lenny Rush as Dobby, and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle.

Spall will take on the role previously played by Mark Williams in the Harry Potter film franchise, with Arthur being the father of seven children, including Harry’s best friend Ron, while also being a pure-blood wizard in the Ministry of Magic. Spall also joins his father Timothy following the elder Spall’s appearance in the films as Peter Pettigrew.

Shirley Henderson as Moaning Myrtle

Hewitt-Richards, on the other hand, will play the ghost who haunts the second-floor girls’ bathroom in Hogwarts, with the character previously being played by Shirley Henderson. Finally, Ambrose plays the Muggle-born Gryffindor wizard Creevey, who is often seen fanboying over Harry, and was played by Hugh Mitchell in the films.

The Harry Potter series reboot is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Game of Thrones veteran Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films share executive producing duties.

The first season, which releases this Christmas, will adapt the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and split the events of the novel into eight episodes, with the second season based on The Chamber of Secrets.
