This proper reveal follows a tease earlier this year, where Honda announced that it would be turning the legendary Pokémon into a real-world motorbike through the aptly named Project Koraidon, previously giving only a brief look at the vehicle’s silhouette and a description of its features, but now, fans can finally see it in action.
Over on X/Twitter, Japanese Pokémon account poke_times posted a five-second clip of the motorbike in motion at Japan’s Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture, with a caption reading “Finally, it runs!” In the clip, the bike is shown moving along at a relatively low speed, with its limbs also shown moving to simulate the Pokémon’s natural movement seen in the game, with its head also seen bobbing slightly to make it more realistic.

An additional social post by Hondai Japan also offers a closer look at the bike in action, revealing that Koraidon will blink periodically while moving, and also revealing a metal contraption beneath its belly, which seems to help stabilise it in motion. This is likely part of the Honda Riding Assist self-balancing function, which enables the bike to drive itself and even make turns without toppling over.
While it’s interesting to finally see Koraidon come to life, it’s unclear if the vehicle can travel any faster than its current speed, which seems no faster than walking pace. Honda has yet to reveal if the vehicle can operate in Koraidon’s faster bike form, as seen in the game, and there is also no indication if it will be spacious or hardy enough for someone to sit atop it, although from the looks of it, having a rider sit on the vehicle while its limbs are in motion does feel like an accident waiting to happen.

All this remains to be seen until Honda reveals more information, with the vehicle still in its testing period for now. The Koraidon motorbike might be more of a novelty than an actual bike that’s safe to ride on, but it’s cool to see in action nonetheless, and will no doubt blow the minds of some young Pokémon Scarlet fans.
