2K’s Secret Remake: What Could It Be?

2K is at it again, and this time they’re whipping up a secret remake that’s got gamers buzzing. According to the LinkedIn page of a motion capture animator at 2K (spotted by MP1st), there’s an “unannounced upcoming remake” in the works.

2K has an exciting upcoming lineup already planned. Among the familiar titles like the upcoming Mafia game, along with the highly-anticipated new BioShock Netflix movie and sequel, this mystery remake stands out.

Could it be a fresh take on the iconic BioShock? It’s been almost ten years since the BioShock trilogy was remastered, and there’s plenty of appetite for a reworking of the first game, widely regarded as one of the best video games ever made.

Another popular theory is that a remaster of Borderlands may be on the horizon, especially with the live-action movie coming out on 9 August. A remaster timed with the release of the movie would be a perfect way to tie the franchise together.

The possibilities are endless. 2K’s vault includes classics like the Sid Meier games and Spec-Ops: The Line. Imagine the storytelling of Spec-Ops with a shiny new coat of paint — it’s enough to make any gamer drool.

Meanwhile, BioShock creator Ken Levine is still toiling away on his new project, Judas. This game looks like BioShock‘s quirky cousin, complete with gunplay and elemental powers in an alternate universe.

So, what’s cooking in 2K’s kitchen? We’ll just have to stay tuned and keep our fingers crossed for a remade masterpiece. Knowing 2K’s track record, it’s probably something worth keeping an eye out for.
