The eight-year wait for a return to the Digi-World has come to an end, and excitement is undoubtedly thrumming in the veins of fans, who are looking forward to fresh spins on an established formula. After all, the Digimon Story spin-off series has always embraced the spirit of going bold, and its latest instalment, Time Stranger, will introduce a handful of new elements, from the ability to ride Digimon and a time-shifting narrative to a focus on the Olympos XII as the main characters.
In a departure from previous titles, its premise involves an agent of the secret organisation ADAMAS investigating strange phenomena in Tokyo, leading them to an unknown creature and a city-levelling explosion, and subsequently, eight years in the past. The circumstances set the stage for a journey between the Human World and Digital World: Iliad, inspired by Roman and Greek mythology — the grandeur of which is reflected through the Collector’s Edition.
