For fighting game fans, the upcoming Tekken 8 should be one to look forward to, especially as we learn more and more details about the tweaks and upgrades that are coming to the long-running series from Bandai Namco. However, all of that would be for nothing if the roster of fighters wasn’t intriguing, and five more fighters have now been revealed for Tekken 8.
A new trailer sees the addition of fan-favourite characters Devil Jin, Zafina, Lee Chaolan, and Alisa Bosconovitch joining the fight, and we even get the first in-game glimpse of Panda. That means out of the 32 eventual fighters, we already know 30 of them who will be preparing for battle with Tekken 8 launches on 26 January next year.
Devil Jin
Devil Jin returns as the Blank Wings of Ruin, Jin’s demonic side coming from the devil gene in his blood and the embodiment of him living with his sins. Devil Jin’s appearance matches his name, and his fighting skills are beyond human capabilities, a great way to show off everything in Tekken 8.
Zafina
The Mystic Stargazer, Zafina, brings back her unique fight style rooted in her warrior heritage and her spiritual abilities as a mystical astrologist. Her methods are as old as her lineage, using Ancient Assassination Arts in her attacks.
Lee Chaolan
Lee Chaolan fights with Martial Arts, but his true power comes from the Violet Suit, a one-of-a-kind battle suit that uses sophisticated technology and unleashes attacks that reflect his Silver-haired-Demon persona in Tekken 8.
Alisa Bosconovitch
Alisa Bosconovitch is the Destroying Automaton developed by the brilliant scientist Dr. Bosconovitch. Alisa’s fighting skills come from her high-mobility flight suit and her arsenal of technological weaponry, a great combination in Tekken 8.
Panda
Panda’s nickname as the Pretty Protector comes from her double duty as both Ling Xiaoyu’s pet and bodyguard. She uses Heihachi-Style Advanced Kuma Shin Ken as her fighting style.
The characters in Tekken 8 play key roles in the game’s storyline, which continues the epic saga of the Kazama-Mishima feud. We also had the chance to speak to series producer Michael Murray at Thailand Game Show 2023, where he dived more into the battle mechanics and the return of Jun to the fold.
