Surprise ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Update Expands Customisation Options, Lets You Carpool With Johnny

If it has been a while since your last trip to Night City, now might be the perfect time to hop back in. CD Projekt Red has dropped its surprise update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077, with a host of new content including more character customisation options, new vehicles, an overhauled photo mode, and most importantly, more Johnny.

Headlining the new update are the 100 new customisation options available for players to lose countless hours crafting their ideal V, which ranges from:

  • 32 eye colors
  • 18 lip makeup types
  • 17 nail colors
  • 10 cheek makeup types
  • 16 eye makeup types
  • 4 face scars
  • 5 eyebrow shapes
  • 4 face tattoos
  • 2 body tattoos
  • 8 cosmetic face cyberware options

In addition, the current character creator randomizer has been upgraded to feature a new “plain-to-punk” slider, giving players a choice between a more casual look versus something more edgy.

Vehicles have received some love in the customization department too. 10 highly-requested vehicles seen in the base game roaming Night City have been added to the Autofixer shop for players to purchase, and players can also repaint select vehicles with the colour schemes previously exclusive to Rayfield or Kiroshi.

The new vehicles include:

  • Mizutani Shion MZ1
  • Mizutani Shion Targa MZT
  • Thorton Galena GA32t
  • Thorton Colby CST40
  • Archer Quartz EC-L r275
  • Quadra Type-66 640 TS
  • Quadra Type-66 680 TS
  • Mahir Supron FS3-T
  • Villefort Deleon V410-S Coupe (exclusive to Phantom Liberty DLC)
  • Mizutani Hozuki MH2 (exclusive to Phantom Liberty DLC)

What’s more, you can now share the journey in your new ride with Johnny Silverhand, who will now appear occasionally in the passenger seat during drives after Act 1, providing commentary and reacting to the player’s actions and what’s going on around them.

Finally, the game’s photo mode has also been overhauled, adding multiple community-requested features such as an NPC spawner, which not only adds more characters into the frame but also allows for individual posing and expressions, as well as a new SmartFrames system, which enables players to display their favourite shots captured in Photo Mode on picture frames in V’s apartment.

Apart from the new features, the patch will also provide multiple bug fixes and miscellaneous quality-of-life features. For the full list of changes, check out CD Projekt RED’s official patch notes. Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2 will be rolled out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
