Samsung’s New Smart Oven Lets You Livestream Your Cooking, Preventing You From Burning Food

“Livestream” and “oven” are two words that one may not associate with each other, but here we are. At first glance, Samsung’s new Bespoke AI Oven looks like any modern-day oven, but it offers a one-of-its-own perk on top of other intelligent features: an internal camera that can livestream the view inside as the food is being cooked.

Why, you ask? According to the company’s fact sheet, the functionality is “great for content creators and avid chefs who want to share their dishes”, or for users to check their bake without having to open the oven’s door. The main use for the camera, though, lies in the AI, which can identify “80 different dishes and ingredients”, and in the case of EU models, up to 106 dishes.

The oven will also recommend the appropriate temperature, time and mode that best fits each specific cooking scenario. A “burn detection” feature has been included as well, with the EU iterations having the ability to warn users if their food is overcooking.

The smart device doesn’t have a door handle, and instead operates on a push-to-open basis. Joining the above offerings are several modes that further facilitate the cooking process, including air fryer, steam cooking, dual temperature zones, and even something called “air sous vide”.

Available in five design options, Samsung’s Bespoke AI Oven is currently available in Europe and will launch in North America in the third quarter of 2023. There’s no word on pricing just yet, however, and it’s unclear if there are plans to bring it to other regions in the near future.
