Malaysia’s Twist On Hungarian Kurtos Kalacs Dessert, Rollney, Opens In Singapore

Rollney serves up a delicious combination of freshly baked (yes, you read it right!) Hungarian Sweet Bread (Kürtőskalács otherwise known as Kurtos Roll) with an irresistible blend of creamy soft-serve ice cream and sweet toppings or savoury goodies.

This creation was born following the founder’s trip to Hungary where he had discovered the Kurtos Roll while walking the streets of Hungary and it was “love at first bite”. For the next three months, he stayed in Hungary to understand the culture and to learn how to bake these buttery and sweet chimney cakes. Once back in Malaysia, an idea struck him to have the chimney cake and ice cream together – blending the Hungarian culture with Malaysians’ food preferences, thus the birth of Rollney in 2017!
