MSI Unveils Next Gen AI Laptops, Handheld Gaming Devices

MSI has unveiled its next-gen AI+ business and productivity laptops at Computex 2024, alongside a special MSI Claw collaboration and a range of other new offerings.

Kicking the hype off is the MSI Claw x Fallout limited-edition handheld gaming device, crafted in conjunction with Bethesda, the studio behind the Fallout titles. Sporting the rugged, post-apocalyptic design language of the game’s iconic Pip-Boy, it comes armed with a large battery capacity Hall Effect-equipped joysticks and triggers.

MSI also adds a new Claw model to its roster, the Claw 8 AI+, which runs on Windows 11 and is powered by Lunar Lake processors. The new model makes several upgrades to the 8-inch device, including an additional Thunderbolt 4-supported USB-C port, enhancing the tactile feel of the LB/RB buttons, increasing battery capacity, and replacing the charger with a lighter wall-mounted charger for a smoother gaming experience. And to sweeten the deal, the Claw 8 AI+ also comes with a one-month free trial of the Xbox Game Pass, which has plenty of games.

On the artificial intelligence (AI) front, the MSI Prestige and Summit AI laptops will join the tech race with Intel’s latest Lunar Lake processors, an integrated GPU, CPU, and NPU, and up to three times the AI performance on previous-gen models.

Available in 13, 14, and 16 inches, the Prestige lineup pairs a 990-gram chassis with a battery capacity of 75Wh. The Summit 13 AI+ Evo, meanwhile, shares similar features – from Lunar Chip processors to a lightweight chassis – but also packs an MSI Pen 2 stylus for increased versatility.

The next devices on the list are the MSI Stealth 16 AI+ and the Creator A16 AI+, which combines next-gen AI, gaming, and content creation. Powered on AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, the laptops can deliver up to three times the performance of its predecessors and run generative AI and large language models with the new XDNA 2 architecture.

Additionally, the models are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series graphic cards, featuring specialised AI Tensor cores that high performance and exclusive AI capabilities. The productivity and business series also touts a 82Wh battery and a lightweight body for increased portability.

After a successful first run, Mercedes and MSI return to announce the launch the Stealth 18 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, an upgraded laptop which incorporates several speed symbols, such as an AMG-patterned palm rest area, exclusive metal nameplates from MSI and AMG, and the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport logo. Equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics chip, it’s a beast of a laptop and comes with cooling chambers that’ll prevent your laptop from heating up.

MSI is also releasing a new Modern series of laptops, which come in 13, 14, and 15-inch sizes. For enhanced connectivity, the new series comes with an RJ-45 wired network port, providing a more stable internet connection, and they’re lightweight, making working on the go convenient.
