Marvel’s What If…? just released a brand new trailer featuring some of Marvel’s greatest heroes in alternate realities that are different from what we’ve seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Whilst some MCU veterans will be lending their voice to the series like the late Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and more, the series had to recast certain characters.
According to Variety, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), The Collector (Benicio del Toro), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Howard the Duck (Seth Green) will not return for What If…?. Their Marvel characters will be voiced by other actors instead.
The What If…? series reimagines famous events from the MCU, creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities. The mad multiverse series will be releasing on 11 August 2021 on Disney+.
