Lenovo Debuts Personalised Smart Mode Features For High-End Aura Edition 2024 Laptops

The strong push for artificial intelligence (AI) in recent years has opened up new opportunities to grow its potential, and Lenovo continues to be part of the process. Reinforcing its plans to meet the increasing demand for AI-powered offerings, the tech giant debuted a new line of premium laptops at Lenovo Innovation World 2024 held in Berlin, Germany, focusing on delivering personalised and simplified user-device interaction.

Designed in a multi-year collaboration with Intel, the Lenovo Aura Edition series integrates AI-enhanced capabilities into the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i. It touts improved oomph, a long battery life, and a more intelligent experience, alongside four intuitive Smart Mode features that seek to optimise performance for work, play, and creativity. Accessible through a simple widget, these include:

  • Attention Mode: When productivity is paramount, Attention Mode allows users to specifically block distracting websites so they can focus on the task at hand.
  • Wellness Features: Includes eye wellness and posture warning features that fight off fatigue and remind users to take breaks, helping keep eye health and posture at top of mind when they are in the zone.
  • Collaboration Tools: A suite of settings designed to enhance video call experiences, including low light enhancement, virtual presenter, background blur, that increase clarity and comfort when working together with others.
  • Shield Mode: Focuses on safeguarding privacy with features like privacy alerts, privacy guard, and auto prompt VPN to help ensure safety and security when working with sensitive information.

Users can also expect quick access to power mode settings, allowing them to balance performance with power consumption, as well as the built-in Smart Share and Smart Care features. Where the former enables picture sharing between Android/iOS smartphones and PC through an app, the latter offers access to Lenovo’s online support tool and chatbot, with the Premier Support Plus service unlocking dedicated concierge-style support connecting users via remote camera sharing, and one click access to voice or chat with live elite Lenovo engineers 24/7.

As top-of-the-line devices, the laptops are no slouch themselves. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition packs the new Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, Intel Arc Xe2 graphics card, and an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) into a sub-1kg form factor – the lightest in the series to date. It boasts a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, joining other notable features like a 57Whr battery (and an expected battery life of 18 hours), a Copilot keyboard key, and when available from Microsoft, Copilot+ support.

Equipped with the same Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition features integrated graphics, a 15.3-inch 2.8K 120Hz LCD display, and a 70Whr battery. A complimentary two-month membership to Adobe Creative Cloud is also included, per Lenovo Yoga tradition.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition will be available from February 2025 in Singapore at an expected starting price of S$3,669. Meanwhile, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is due to arrive on 17 September, and starts at S$2,399.
