Remember that nail-biting scene from 1993’s Jurassic Park that had us on the edge of our seats? The T. rex escaping the paddock was one of the most memorable scenes in movie history is now immortalised as a LEGO set.
The latest build-and-display model (76956) features a posable T. rex (of course) stomping on a flipped Ford Explorer, with a second Ford Explorer alongside a smashed electric fence.
You can even relive that moment in 4K HDR right here:
The 1212-piece model measures over 6 in. (15 cm) high, 23 in. (58 cm) wide and 8.5 in. (22 cm) deep, and comes packed with a companion booklet that includes an interview with the model designers and how the movie references were reproduced in the model.
And of course, no set is complete with without Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Tim Murphy and Lex Murphy minifigures, complete with night-vision goggles, a flare and two water glass elements.
There are plenty of other nice little references to the iconic scene, such as the the printed tile that shows the quote from Ian Malcolm: “Boy, do I hate being right all the time.”
The LEGO 76956 T. rex Breakout set is available for pre-order now on LEGO.com, priced at US$99.99 and it will ship from 17 April 2022. We have also confirmed with LEGO that it will also be released on the same day in Singapore at S$159.90.
