Geek Review: Secretlab TITAN Evo Lite Gaming Chair

Where do you go when you’ve helped set the gold standard for comfortable gaming chairs? How about a few steps back, but in the process make it more affordable for a bigger audience?

Secretlab has set a high bar when it comes to their gaming chairs, ensuring that gamers can spend long hours in front of a computer in comfort, though at a high price point. If you’re not ready to commit to an advanced gaming chair yet want to try out some of its features before making the leap, the Secretlab Titan Evo Lite is the perfect introduction.

An entry-level gaming chair for those starting out their gaming indulgence, the chair delivers comfort and support with slightly scaled back features, but at a more affordable price point starting from S$519. The chair bears some similarities to the 2022 Secretlab Titan Evo, but streamlines its best features for a comfortable gaming experience.

Instead of a variety of colours and material combinations, there are two to focus on. Leatherette, made from PU and resin top laminate, is designed to look like leather, giving your chair a sleek, classy look while Softweave, which is made out of breathable fabric and makes cleaning spills easier, provides a more homely aesthetic. This chair comes in five colours – Leatherette in Stealth and Black, Softweave in Cookies & Cream, Charcoal Blue, and Black, so you can choose what material works best for your needs.

The Titan Evo Lite comes in two sizes, R and XL. It caters to the same audience, capable of providing comfort to anyone weighing less than 100kg for the R size (up to 180kg for the XL size), and not more than 1.89m in height (2.05m for the XL size). Pull a lever and it leans back at 165°, providing the same recline, as well as an adjustable base that can rock back and forth, or be locked in a stationary position.

Want to sleep on the chair or have a quick power nap in between games? The recline is close to a flatbed, and the base is strong enough that even a man of a larger size and lean back and sleep without fear of falling off the chair. Switching from an upright to a reclining position and vice versa takes only seconds, so you’ll be able to get back on the grind easily. The tilt and sway function is also fully adjustable, locking you in place when you need to get in the zone, and the levers are within reachable distance. Every part of the chair is meticulously crafted, including the side wings and backrest, which follow the natural curve of your shoulders, sitting at a milder 30-degree angle that helps to relieve shoulder tension. With plenty of ergonomic-friendly features, it makes for a highly-personalized experience tailored to give you adequate posture support.

If you’re in the market for a premium chair but don’t want to overspend, the Secretlab Titan Evo Lite is a great choice for gamers who prioritize comfort and functionality, without much of the extra fuss.
