The animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy’s will soon return for more playtime. The first teaser for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel to the 2023 film adaptation, has dropped after premiering at CinemaCon 2025, featuring the murderous mascot spreading fear in and out of Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria.
“Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances,” reads a line for the film, suggesting more dangers lurking in the shadows. “They’re out there, Mike”, says Elizabeth Lail’s character Vanessa in the 48-second clip. After Josh Hutcherson’s Mike Schmidt asks the meaning behind her statement, she adds, “Everywhere.”
The upcoming feature will be helmed by returning director Emma Tammi, with Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo movies) and Piper Rubio reprising their roles as William Afton and Mike’s younger sister, Abby, respectively. Based on Scott Cawthorn’s video game series of the same name, the first movie follows Mike, who takes a sketchy job as a night security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. It earned US$132 million at the global box office in its opening weekend, and also debuted concurrently on NBCUniversal streamer Peacock on the day of release.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 opens in theatres on 5 December.
