GeraldStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker did not sit well with some fans when it was released back in 2019. While it was a tough task on JJ Abrams part, the revelation of a leaked scripted by Colin Trevorrow, titled “Duel of the Fates”, has made fans crave for what could have been.
Fast forward to March 2020, Andrew Winegarner, took upon the task of adapting the script into a webcomic.
Since then, Winegarner has been extremely productive with over six issues illustrated but his work is not yet complete. Having read all the issues, it does put into perspective the possibility that Trevorrow’s rendition would have translated well on screen. It’s a pity that will never happen.

Thankfully, the future of Star Wars, in a way, is in the safe hands of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni with their efforts in The Mandalorian.
In the meantime, Winegarner’s attempt is a worthy read and we do encourage everyone to give it a shot.
