Delta Emulator 1.6 Brings iPadOS Support With Split View And Handoff

Delta Emulator just dropped its biggest update yet, fully supporting iPadOS and eliminating the need for BIOS files. Users in Europe can grab it via AltStore PAL, but we have to wait a bit longer.

The beloved Nintendo emulator, Delta, has launched update 1.6, bringing full iPadOS support and several quality-of-life improvements. Announced by developer Riley Testut, this update lets iPad users enjoy GameBoy, NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, N64, and Nintendo DS games on full screen with new controller skins and the ability to run multiple games simultaneously using Stage Manager and Split View.

iPhone users also benefit from this update, with improved DS emulation and better performance across the board. The update even removes the need for BIOS files for DS games. Plus, Delta has a snazzy new app icon, changed after Adobe claimed the original was too similar to their logo.

While EU users can update now, others must wait as Apple has rejected the updated version of Delta, according to Testut’s post on Threads. It’s unclear when things will get sorted out, but iPhone owners can always boot it up on their device and bask in the nostalgia — whenever and wherever.
