‘Borderlands’ Goes ‘Silent Hill’ With ‘EchoVision Live’ Interactive Series

We already know that the Borderlands series is expanding its scope to include the upcoming movie in 2024, but Gearbox is far from being done with its popular first-person shooter franchise. In fact, fans will get a starkly different experience with Borderlands EchoVision Live, a new interactive series where the power lies in your hand.

Borderlands EchoVision Live will follow the tale of eight tourists embarking on an adventure safari on Eden-6, otherwise known as the home of Jakobs Corporation, the weapons manufacturer. As such things go, everything that can go wrong goes wrong, and the motley crew becomes stranded in the town of Greywater Junction. As if that wasn’t enough, threats begin to emerge on all fronts.

What happens to these tourists will be where the fun begins, with audiences making their choices count thanks to the interactive nature of the series. This is all made possible thanks to Genvid Entertainment, who are also the folks behind Silent Hill: Ascension. Both titles are what the company terms massively interactive live events, or MILEs, with viewers taking the decisions that determine just how events will unfold.

The collective shared outcome will certainly have plenty of room for twists and turns, and there will be results that not everyone would agree with as the series progresses. Whether that is an experience worth having remains to be seen, but Borderlands EchoVision Live will bring greater appeal than the relatively niche horror genre.

For now, Borderlands EchoVision Live has no release date just yet, and there is precious little information available on its website. Those interested can register their interest to find out more, and hopefully, Gearbox will have more to share in the coming months.
