Blizzard Teases Two ‘Diablo IV’ Expansions Currently In Development

With Blizzard Entertainment‘s Diablo IV already out in Early Access for those that wanted to get into Sanctuary before anyone else, things are already looking good for the original stalwart of the ARPG genre. As the game moves into its full launch, eager fans are already eager to see what’s coming next, and as General Manager Rod Fergusson reveals, there are two expansions currently in the works for Diablo IV.

“As I sit here, we’re about to launch the main game, we’re finishing up season one, we’re working on season two, we’re working on expansion one, we’re kicking off expansion two…we’re working on that now, and we haven’t even launched the game,” said Fergusson as part of the Kinda Funny Xcast show.

While expansions usually take a while, as evidenced in other games of the series, it is the live-service format of Diablo IV that makes it somewhat easier. Players can expect more significant content to make its way to the new entry, with narrative questlines and richer content as part of the deal, not to mention the many different seasons that will take place throughout the course of the game’s lifespan.

The lifespan will also be another key thing to look out for, but considering that Blizzard has been supporting both Diablo II and III for years now, it will likely be the same for Diablo IV beyond its expansions.

With more players joining the cause at the official launch, they will be coming into a Sanctuary that is primed for even more content. That is nothing but good news, and we await to see just what other changes Blizzard will be implementing in the game, be it balance tweaks or more content additions. After all, the fight against evil never ends, and more Diablo IV expansions will only get players excited to engage even more.
