Amazon Releases The Wheel of Time First Trailer Ahead Of 19 November Premiere

Amazon has finally released the first trailer to The Wheel of Time and it is looking absolutely otherworldly.

The series stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, a member of a powerful all-female organisation called the Aes Sedai. After arriving at the town of Two Rivers, Sedai and a group of other adventurers head off on a journey across the world. However, one of the members of the group is the Dragon Reborn and only the wheel of time will tell if he or she will be the saviour or destroyer of humanity.

The trailer begins with Nynaeve (Zoë Robins) pushing Egwene (Madeleine Madden) off a cliff before we see Rand (Josha Stradowski), Mat (Barney Harris), and Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) are seen hanging out at a tavern. Rand makes eyes at the tavern owner’s daughter, Egwene and the trailer then cuts to various beautiful locations, powerful beings, and battles against creatures that lurk in the dark – all narrated by Pike’s Moiraine who speaks of ‘The One Power’.

The One Power was once wielded by both genders, but the male half of the force was corrupted ages ago. The Aes Sedai are now the keepers of peace and magic throughout the continent, though the organization has different colour-coded factions.

The trailer gives a glimpse of the Red Ajah and the Green Ajah in action. As the colour-coded garments suggest, Moiraine belongs to the Blue Ajah, righteous do-gooders who want to save the world.
