Alienware Unveils 16 & 16X Entry-Level Aurora Laptops Targeting Casual Gamers

Alienware, a subsidiary of Dell known for high-end systems targeted at hardcore gamers, is switching priorities to focus on the wider market with its newly announced 16 and 16X Aurora laptops, marking a refresh to the line-up after more than two decades.

Designed for the everyday gamer wishing for a portable gaming powerhouse without breaking the bank, the 16 Aurora comes equipped with the latest Intel processors and NVIDIA mobile graphics cards, and marks the company’s refresh of the Aurora line since its last iteration in 2006, which will now encompass of of Alienware’s mid-tier laptop and desktop systems.

With a chassis built around the new AW30 design language, the Alienware 16 Aurora maintains portability by forgoing a thermal shelf and instead features a new cryo-chamber on its base, housing two fans within alongside three air vents as well as four exhaust ports on the sides and rear of the laptop for efficient airflow. To enhance the gaming experience further, the laptop also features a 16-inch QHD+ resolution screen with up to 240Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness.
