Even before the release of Square Enix’s much-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final chapter in its hit JRPG remake trilogy, fans are already getting excited for what’s to come, as a leak has suggested that the game will feature an extensive post-launch plan, including a story expansion pass and up to nine DLCs.

As spotted via the Epic Games Store database page for the game, there are currently multiple placeholder listings which seem to hint at Final Fantasy VII Revelation’s busy content lineup. Among these, up to nine DLC packs have been listed, and while it’s hard to ascertain what these might be at this point, as they could range from cosmetic packs to game soundtracks, the more interesting find here is a listing labelled “Story Expansion Pass”.
As its name suggests, this listing hints at a much more substantial piece of post-launch content, one that could possibly expand upon the game even though it’s already set to be the final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. We’ve already seen something similar happen previously with 2021’s Final Fantasy VII Remake: Episode INTERmission, which featured fan-favourite character Yuffie in her own personal storyline prior to her introduction in 2024’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so this could very well follow in the same footsteps, possibly focusing on Revelation’s own newly-introduced character, Vincent Valentine.

Some fans online have speculated that this DLC might even be a remake of some of the original game’s previous spin-offs, notably Dirge of Cerberus, the third-person shooter featuring Vincent, and although this does seem like a stretch, it would make this already-massive final chapter even more memorable.
Set for launch in the first half of 2027, Final Fantasy VII Revelation will conclude the remake trilogy and follow 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its 2024 sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
