After numerous pop-up stores and other temporary installations, The Gundam Base has finally landed in Singapore, and this time for good, with its official flagship store opening at Jewel Changi Airport, inviting Gunpla fans to plastic model valhalla with exclusive kits, photo opportunities, and unique interactive experiences.
Located on level 4 in Jewel, The Gundam Base Singapore aims to provide fans with an immersive Gundam and Gunpla experience, with visitors immediately treated to the 1.8m RX-78 (Gundam Base Colour) Gundam statue welcoming them to the store, alongside shelves filled with Gunpla kits ranging from fan-favourite series across the anime’s history, such as Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Gundam 00, and Gundam GQuuuuuuX, a comprehensive selection across multiple grades including Entry Grade, Super Deformed SD, High Grade (HG), Real Grade (RG), Master Grade (MG), and Perfect Grade (PG), catering to all skill levels.
It’s not just Gunpla kit boxes on display, however, as encased in glass displays throughout the store stand multiple pre-built Gundam kits meticulously painted and decaled, with a dedicated wall of Gunpla model kits that lets visitors witness the evolution of Mobile Suit design over the years.
Past the Gunpla kits, The Gundam Base Singapore will also feature a dedicated workshop area, which is designed specifically for newcomers to the hobby, a communal space where they can try out Gunpla building for the first time. The area will also be free to the public on weekends, making it a welcoming spot for families to build model kits together as a memorable bonding event.
Additionally, the workshop area is also home to a fan-favourite photo spot, a human-sized Gunpla runner and RX-78 Gundam blueprint, where fans of all ages can snap a commemorative shot of themselves “attached” to the runner.
Like other Gundam Base stores, the Singapore flagship outlet will also be home to limited-edition Gunpla kits available for purchase, such as popular and hard-to-find models like the HG 1/144 The Gundam Base Limited RX-78-2 Gundam (Beyond Global) (The Gundam Base Colour), the MG 1/100 The Gundam Base Limited Hyaku-Shiki Ver.2.0 (Mechanical Core Plating), the MG 1/100 The Gundam Base Limited Sengoku Astray Gundam (Metallic), and so much more, making it a one-stop-shop for avid collectors and hobby newcomers alike.
