‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Nintendo Switch 2 Version Leaked

Unlike its shinobi heroine, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is being anything but stealthy when it comes to the possibility of the game’s Nintendo Switch 2 version, as a new leak has not only all but confirmed the port, but also suggests that it will come with a Game Key Card.

The original leak comes from French retailer Auchan, although the post was swiftly taken down. According to IGN, the leak comprised the game’s Nintendo Switch 2 version box art alongside the text that read “experience Assassin’s Creed Shadows in a whole new way with Nintendo Switch 2.”

Viewers were quick to point out that the listing also stated the game’s usage of a Game Key Card, a controversial feature surrounding the hybrid console, where games came with a digital code to either part or all of a game instead of having all the data stored on the card itself, meaning players will still have to download it from the internet.

This isn’t the first time the port has been leaked, either, as back in April, the PEGI ratings website listed the Nintendo Switch 2 as a platform for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Furthermore, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also teased that the title would receive “new versions that will come to other machines” during the company’s earnings briefing in July, which means the port’s official reveal might be on the way.
