Do you feel the need, the need for speed?
Cars have been an obsession of Hollywood for a very long time, from the General Lee, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, to the Auto Car (Who here remembers that?), and their ever growing presence in TV shows and movies signifies their importance in pop culture.
After all, audiences are as obsessed with the actor playing James Bond and Batman, as they are with the new Aston Martin or Batmobile that appear alongside them.
But the classics, they never go away. Audiences may swoon over the latest Bumblebee or BMW concept car, but the majority of us want to own the DeLorean Time Machine, or speak to KITT.
The folks at J&S Transportation have created a sweet infographic, on the speeds of some of the most popular cars in pop culture. You’ll be surprised by what made the cut, though I would actually correct one thing. The DeLorean needs to be further up the list. After all, 88 mph is when you’ll see some serious shit, but I’m sure that’s not the maximum speed the car can do.
