Catching a flick in IMAX usually is reserved for that special occasion. Only after careful curation and ensuring the movie is worth the price of entry would you take the plunge to grab your tickets.

With the new summer wave of blockbusters upon us, Shaw Theatres is sweetening the deal by offering everyone who catches an IMAX movie this season a chance to win a trip to LA to visit the IMAX Entertainment HQ and get a VIP tour around TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX with a friend from now to 31 July 2016.

If you’re planning to catch the upcoming Warcraft: The Beginning, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Finding Dory, Independence Day: Resurgence or Star Trek Beyond, you might want to hang on to that ticket stub and enter yourself into the running.

Watching three movies entitles you to the Grand Prize Draw of a trip to LA but if you’re hanging on to an old IMAX ticket stub for Captain America: Civil War or X-Men: Apocalypse, it still qualifies you into the contest as well. Additionally, each movie gives you an opportunity in the Movie Draw to win a prize pack (of 3) which contains a pair of Shaw Theatres IMAX movie passes, a travel adapter, a water bottle, and an umbrella.

If I was to approach this strategically in figuring out which tickets might be worth the bang for buck, I would go for this following in order of geeky importance:

• Independence Day: Resurgence
• Star Trek Beyond
• Warcraft: The Beginning
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Into the Shadows
• Finding Dory

Obviously, movies with a big potential boom would take priority and Independence Day: Resurgence or Star Trek Beyond should be your top picks. With those upcoming and if you’re holding on to an existing Captain America: Civil War or X-Men: Apocalypse stub places you into the the running for the grand prize easily!
