The Huawei P60 Pro Is The Best Android Phone No One’s Buying

Despite all the roadblocks thrown at Huawei, we have to admire their persistence. Their latest flagship smartphone, the Huawei P60 Pro, packs in interesting features which will be overlooked by most users. The device promises to continue the brand’s tradition of outstanding photography and aesthetics, but this time with a breakthrough in optical systems and design.

One of the standout features of the P60 Pro is its fully upgraded optical system, which includes an Ultra Lighting Telephoto Camera with Multiple Lens Groups. This lens, also referred to as the Ultra Lighting Telephoto Camera, boasts the ability to boost light intake without adding extra bulk to the already thin and lightweight device.

Huawei generally has something new up its sleeve with each generational refresh. This time around, the Huawei P60 Pro packs a redesigned optical system with advanced features that improve the overall photography experience. The Ultra Lighting Main 48-megapixel camera is equipped with an F1.4- F4.0 Auto-Adjustable Physical Aperture, High Transmittance Lens Group, and an RYYB SuperSensing sensor.

Huawei claims that the cameras are able to produce ultra-high dynamic range in scenes with higher light-to-dark ratios such as sunrise and sunset, dawn and dusk. In addition, the new XD Fusion Pro’s Texture Engine software aids in capturing fine details, including the shine on the surface of glass.

We’ll have to check in and see down the line if the Huawei P60 Pro’s camera actually lives up to the hype.

Aside from its optical system, the P60 Pro also promises to be aesthetically pleasing, building upon Huawei’s reputation for producing sleek and stylish devices.

At the front, is the New Quad-Curve Display, which boasts a Huawei-exclusive durable Kunlun Glass panel. The screen is slightly curved on all four sides and has rounded edges, creating an immersive display with a boundless field of vision.

At only 200g, the P60 Pro is incredibly lightweight, making it easy and comfortable to hold. The smartphone’s design strikes the perfect balance between style and functionality, and its curved display adds to its sleek look and feel.

The P60 Pro’s 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive high refresh rate is also noteworthy, promising smooth visuals without compromising on battery life. Users can expect a more comfortable grip and touch experience while enjoying an immersive display with vivid and crisp visuals.

Not to be overshadowed, the Huawei P60 Pro’s rear boasts a unique design inspired by nature. The device’s Rococo Pearl edition features the industry’s first Pearl Texture Design, which incorporates natural mineral pearl powder to create a unique natural texture resembling Mother of Pearl. This innovative approach to smartphone design sets the P60 Pro apart from other devices on the market and gives it a truly distinctive look and feel.

And it would seem that each pearl design will be unique to each device!

In addition to the Rococo Pearl edition, Huawei has also introduced a deep feather sand Black version of the P60 Pro. This edition uses innovative Anti-Fingerprint Feather-Sand Glass, which has a soft and delicate feel, yet shines like diamonds. The feather sand glass creates a unique tactile experience, which is both visually stunning and comfortable to hold.

The P60 Pro’s nature-inspired design is a refreshing departure from the standard smartphone aesthetic, offering users something different and unique.

Apart from the hardware side of things, an interesting development would be how Huawei perceives essential tweaks to the phone’s UI particularly in the camera department once again. As phone sizes grow larger, anyone with smaller hands would struggle to hit the shutter in the middle of the phone. The new one-handed shooting UI from Huawei, allows users to take a shot by simply tapping on the general area of the shutter button. This would be great in reducing hand tremors to hopefully get the perfect shot each time.

Ultimately, the elephant in the room still needs to be addressed. While the Huawei App Gallery has made big strides, the lack of Google Play still is an area of concern. Until then, the Huawei P60 Pro might be a great phone which will be overlooked.

The HUAWEI P60 Pro will be available from 20 May 2023 at HUAWEI Experience Stores in 313@Somerset and Westgate and on Lazada and Shopee.
