Adidas x Dragon Ball Z Sneaker Collaboration Arrives in Fall 2018

Dragon Ball Z may have ended its run slightly more than 20 years ago, but its influence is undeniably still going strong. Widely considered to be a cult classic in the anime world, the title has spawned an absurdly large following, as well as a wide collection of merchandise, and crossover opportunities with other well-known works. The upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ video game (January 26) will shine the spotlight on this beloved franchise once more.

In Fall 2018, it seems the hotly-popular series is extending a collaboration opportunity with Adidas. For anime fans who also double up as sneakerheads, this means that they’ll be able to get their hands on the first-ever proper sneaker collection, which would most likely come with special packaging.

While information has been sparse, word has it that the Adidas x Dragon Ball Z effort will include seven shoes in total – a nod to the seven mythical Dragon Balls from the anime. It’s unclear which ones are to be featured in the collection, however, and fans can only wait for Adidas to drop the official announcement.

To see the two respected industry giants working together is a pretty cool sight, especially since Adidas have had a similar project in the past, where some fans were able to get their own Dragon Ball kicks through the Adidas ZX Flux Collection.

No ballpark release date or retail price has been confirmed, but collectible sets have always edged on the more expensive end, and given that it’s Adidas, it’d do good for interested parties to start saving up now – after all, it’s always better to start early.
